The Singapore Arts Festival is now a major event in the Asian calendar. Over time it has gone from being a celebration of national arts launched back in 1977 that celebrated the trailblazers in the local art’s scene into an major internationally recognized festival that is now one of most cutting-edge of its kind in Asia.

The Singapore Arts Festival displays work by both legendary and budding artists. Visual arts, theater, dance, and music all feature prominently. Each year a different theme is chosen to evoke different aspect of life and culture.

Michael Filippone has traveled throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia. Each year he travels several hundred thousand miles. He regularly visits Singapore for business and has a great love of the Orient.

His favorite things are morning runs in big cities and getting lost. Michael is known to be fond of skipping rope and other than the odd beer, his preferred beverage is coconut water. He loves to fish and play volleyball with his children. He trained as an Olympic rower and loves to see his children find their way in sports and life.
